Thank you for your interest in volunteering with HighSight, helping our scholars thrive in high school, get accepted to selective colleges, and take on meaningful internships and employment.
TUTORING SCHOLARS
Our hope is that a tutor can join our scholars for at least one session a week, with the expectation that they will be able to tutor for at least one hour multiple times each month.
Here are some related details about the rewarding opportunity to tutor our HighSight scholars:
- tutoring sessions take place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during the academic year; scholars are present from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with the hope that each tutor can come for an hour or more during that time;
- the sessions are held at St. Michael's Parish Hall in Old Town (1711 North Cleveland Avenue), a few short blocks from CTA Brown, Purple, and Red line stops; free off-street parking is also available in the parking lot adjacent to the building;
- we need tutors in all subject areas and who can provide some guidance on tutoring techniques;
